Sooo i cannot remember if we were supposed to do ch 12 but here it goes anyways. And i am doing this early so i dont forget to do it later. Because i will forget to do this.
Alright ch 8, understanding plagiarism and integrating resources. Oh boy, more on plagiarism. Plagiarism is just not my thing. I have been learning how not to do it since i was in grade school. I know how to cite everything that i dont write and when i cite i make it blatantly obvious that it was someone else that wrote what i wanted to say. This is a long chapter, i have to say. It goes into detail on reviewing your research, which we have talked about in class. The example paper given, however, is somewhat useful. It gives a layout of a correct paper and highlights the major points that make it a good paper.
Chapter 12, MLA citation and guidelines. I am not going to lie, this was a very quick read for me because all this chapter is, is a reference for examples on how to write many different citations for many different kinds of sources. All this chapter is useful for is if I needed a good example for a source like a book, website, one and two authors, letters, journals, etc... It is useful and probably the most useful part of this entire book in my opinion.
And there you have it :) chapters that i think we were supposed to read and i have them done early!!
so....chap 8 was def forevr ago lol, but good info.
ReplyDeletei agree with u the citations information section is definitely probably the most useful. i realized that because its the only section i would go searching for and open my book for more than once.
to me knowing how to properly cite sets u up for an A or B or a D. it
really isnt hard its just about gettin the information in the right order and correctly citing in your paper after doing so. but yeppershelpful, glad i spent all the money on this book for this one useful section (in my eyes) lol
i agree that plagiarism is WAY overemphasized. to the extent that creative writing is minimized as part of the process.
ReplyDeletei've heard profs say that they don't care what you write for them as long as its not plagiarized. that's ridiculous. we ought to be evaluated by more than that.
