Text Books

I, to be honest, hate English text books. I have been reading them since I was in elementary school and they are all the same stuff over and over again. This book is the perfect example of such a book. I really didnt even read all of it. I just skimmed over most of it. It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend for me and the last thing I want to be dong right now is blogging about a book that I will most likely never open again this semester. I am waiting till the last min to even write this, while the Colts game is on.

Anyway, the book will be useful if I have a question that I just cant remember for the life of me what to do when I am stuck with my writing. It probably won't help me much considering I have been writing research papers since high school and my papers now are the most complex scientific research papers I have ever written. All in all this book is just so-so.

  1. I completely agree with you. I hate English text books too. All the stories that I really could care less about reading. All of the examples of different styles of writing that I probably wont use outside of my English courses, besides maybe informative speaking. I am rarely interested in any of the stories that I read in those books. I dread getting assignments out of them and I never really finish reading the stories. Im glad you got a lot of relaxation, but I hope youre not a Colts fan, because the Colts are terrible. I rather read an English textbook instead of watching a Colts game..lol that might be a stretch, but yeh..

The information in the chapters was very informative though. It really shows how important the research is before doing much of anything... So. I found the stuff kind of interesting. random. I know, but yeh

  2. Ha, my thoughts exactly! I hate them too. I actually skimmed over it too. I hate how they have all the examples in there just to get across a point they've been telling us since 9th grade. I mean what it was trying to say was useful, but first I had to sort through all the stories just to get to the informative part. I'm actually not quite sure if it took longer to do that than if I would have just read it all. I felt like it was more examples than information, but at least I can refer to them if I really don't understand something.

  3. i completely agree i am so sick and tired of having to read textbooks they are so boring except for my health sex textbook that one is actually interesting. And yeah the information will be useful later in the future and will probably be panicking last minute about what all this information in these chapters really mean and how to use it. Taylor please i think being a colts fan would beat reading and english textbook anyday. What is so wrong with being able to like the colts every one is able to be a fan of which ever team they want and yes you are also allowed to disagree with them and like another team. Bout i do not think people should be picking on others and being negative towards the person based on their football team preferences lol
